Terms of Service
The short version: you're giving an AI agent root access to a real server. Read the safety model, keep -yes off unless you mean it, and use rootuno at your own risk on production systems.

1. What rootuno is
rootuno is a CLI agent that accepts natural-language instructions and carries out Linux system-administration tasks — running shell commands and reading or writing files — as root on a host you control. The rootuno dashboard (dashboard.rootuno.com) is a separate service that issues license keys, tracks plans and usage, and hands an activated CLI a pooled API key so you don't have to bring your own.
These Terms cover both the CLI application and the dashboard service (together, "the Service"), operated by rootuno ("we," "us"). By installing, running, or activating rootuno, or by creating a dashboard account, you agree to these Terms.
2. Root access and destructive actions
rootuno runs with root privileges on the host you install it on. It is designed to investigate before acting and to pause for an explicit confirmation before running commands or writes it classifies as destructive — see the safety model for what that covers. That classification is pattern-based and cannot anticipate every possible outcome.
Passing the -yes flag disables confirmation prompts entirely for that run. You are solely responsible for any action rootuno takes on your systems, whether prompted or auto-approved, including data loss, downtime, or misconfiguration. Always test in a non-production environment first if you're unsure how it will behave.
3. Accounts, license keys, and plans
Creating a dashboard account requires a valid email address. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials and any license keys confidential — a license key grants access to rootuno's pooled key on your behalf, and anyone holding it can consume your plan's usage.
We offer a free plan with usage limits and paid plans with higher limits, billed through Mollie. Certain email domains may be granted an unlimited internal plan at our discretion. We may change plan limits, pricing, or features with notice posted on the dashboard.
4. Acceptable use
You may not use the Service to:
- Access, administer, or run commands against systems you don't own or don't have explicit authorization to manage;
- Attempt to circumvent usage limits, resell pooled API access, or share a license key outside your own organization;
- Use the Service to generate, deploy, or facilitate malware, denial-of-service attacks, or other harm to third-party systems;
- Reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the pooled key or dashboard credentials for use outside the Service.
We may suspend or terminate a license or account for violating this section, with or without notice.
5. Third-party services
rootuno activations rely on our model provider's API via rootuno's pooled key, and are subject to that provider's own terms and usage policies. The dashboard uses Mollie for payment processing and Resend for transactional email; we don't control their availability.
6. No warranty
The Service is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that rootuno's actions will always be correct, that its risk detection will catch every destructive command, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. rootuno is under active development, including its multi-host capabilities, which are not yet complete.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, rootuno will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages — including data loss, downtime, or lost revenue — arising from your use of the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
8. Changes to the Service or these Terms
We may modify or discontinue features of the Service, and may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date above. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
